W4W Spotlight: Leigh Kershner – Embracing Art, Family, and the Journey of Creativity

We couldn’t be more excited to see our very own Leigh Kershner recognized in Canvas Rebel! Leigh’s story is one of heart, creativity, and perseverance, and we’re so proud to have her as part of the Women for Women (W4W) community.

Leigh’s journey into the art world wasn’t a straight path—it was one shaped by life, love, and family. After stepping away from her previous career to raise her four children (through both birth and adoption), she found her way back to her creative roots. Painting and drawing became her personal outlet, and over time, that passion transformed into something even bigger: a thriving art career.

Her story is a powerful reminder that creativity doesn’t have a timeline—there’s no "too early" or "too late" when it comes to following your passion. Every experience along the way adds depth, meaning, and richness to the work we create. Leigh’s art reflects the beauty of that journey, and we love seeing her receive the recognition she deserves!

In a CanvasRebel article, artist Leigh Kershner reflects on the timing of her creative career. She left her previous profession at 40 to focus on raising a family, which includes four children through birth and adoption. During this period, she continued drawing and painting as a personal outlet. Kershner acknowledges that while starting her art career earlier might have been ideal, the experiences and challenges she faced enriched her journey, making her current artistic endeavors more meaningful.
